The Team

Nkechi Adesanya - ‘Chef Nkay’

Nkechi Adesanya, popularly known as Chef Nkay, discovered her love for cooking early in life while helping her mother run a thriving catering business. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for a long career in event catering and eventually inspired her to establish Origin Events Management and Catering Services.

With academic roots in engineering and a Master’s degree in Environmental Pollution Control from London, Chef Nkay found a natural connection between engineering and the culinary arts—both requiring precision, creativity, and flexibility. She later pursued formal culinary education, becoming a professional chef, certified food handler, trained mixologist, and hospitality expert through the Canadian Institute of Food Safety. Her culinary journey also includes global exposure, working alongside international chefs to refine her skills.

Motivated by a passion to mentor and uplift others, she launched Origin Culinary Art School to train and empower future culinary professionals.

Ozioma Obidiegwu- ‘Chef Ozi’

Ozioma Obidiegwu, known professionally as Chef Ozi, began her culinary journey in her family kitchen, where she learned by observing and assisting her mother and aunts. These early experiences taught her that food goes beyond nourishment—it can also be a powerful tool for promoting well-being.

Driven by her passion for food, Chef Ozi pursued a diploma in Culinary Arts after earning a degree in International Relations. She further deepened her expertise with a Professional Certificate in Food, Nutrition, and Health from Wageningen University. As the former Creative Head at Gourmet Brunch Stop, she specialized in crafting wholesome breakfast and brunch meals. Today, she works as a freelance nutrition coach and meal planner, guiding individuals toward healthier lifestyles with personalized culinary strategies.

Chef Ozi’s approach to food is a fusion of nutrition, creativity, education, and culinary mastery. Through hands-on lessons and mentorship, she empowers others to make informed, nourishing food choices while exploring the art and joy of cooking.
